Terms of Service

Plain English summary: You get a subscription to Haptics. You own your data. We don't sell it. You can cancel anytime. Don't misuse the service. We'll do our best to keep everything running smoothly.

1. Who We Are

Haptics is operated by Haptics Coaching ("we," "us," or "our"). If you have questions about these terms, contact us at support@haptics.coach.

2. Accepting These Terms

By creating an account or using the Haptics app, website, or any related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these terms on your behalf.

3. Your Account

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You're responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@haptics.coach if you suspect unauthorized access.

You may not share your account or transfer it to another person.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

Athlete Plan

The Haptics Athlete subscription is available at:

The annual plan includes additional features: advanced weekly periodized training plans, monthly AI performance reports, offline coaching tips, and 250 AI messages per month (vs. 200 on the monthly plan).

Coach Plan

The Haptics Coach subscription is available at:

Additional athlete seats beyond the 5 included are available at $7.99 / athlete / month (or $5.99 / athlete / month on an annual plan). Contact support@haptics.coach to add seats.

Beta Testers

Beta testers who sign up before the public launch receive one month of free AI coaching when the app launches. After the beta period, standard pricing applies. New non-beta users receive a 1-week free trial.

Billing and Cancellation

Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Billing is managed by Apple or Google according to their respective terms. We do not store your payment information.

You can cancel at any time through your App Store or Google Play account settings. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial periods, except where required by applicable law.

5. Free Trials

Free trial periods are available to new subscribers only. After the trial ends, your subscription begins automatically at the standard rate. You may cancel during the trial at no charge.

7. AI Coach

The Haptics AI Coach is powered by Claude, developed by Anthropic. It provides training guidance, ride analysis, and coaching advice based on your activity data. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice. If you have a health condition or injury, consult a qualified medical professional before following any training recommendations.

AI-generated responses may occasionally be inaccurate. Always apply your own judgment when following coaching advice.

8. Your Data

You retain ownership of your personal data and activity history. We process it solely to provide the Service. For full details on what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights, see our Privacy Policy.

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting support@haptics.coach.

9. Intellectual Property

The Haptics app, website, logo, and all associated content are owned by Haptics Coaching and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

You grant us a limited license to use your activity data and any feedback you provide solely to improve and operate the Service.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party platforms including Strava, RideWithGPS, Apple Health, Google Fit, and Garmin Connect. Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for those services.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that haptic cues will be delivered in all circumstances (e.g., in low-battery conditions, during poor GPS signal, or on unsupported hardware).

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, HAPTICS COACHING SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Haptics Coaching and its affiliates from any claims, losses, or damages (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or your violation of these terms.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or through the app at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

15. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
